Copywriting and Building Links

from: Deb St. George - MarketingSalesCopy.com

A stand alone text is not as good as a text that it well linked with other web pages. No matter what is being talked about, citing references to other web sites is always beneficial. It could be used for references, credibility or simply more information. A well connected content is also appreciated by the reader and he is not wondering where to find the things you are talking about. And links, if carefully used, do not bother the readers much as they have the choice to use them or not. A good content always has links that are attached to it naturally.

First idea is to make your content popular on social media websites like Digg, Reddit, TechMeme, Magnolia etc. Having a good headline would definitely attract more traffic to your website. Make sure that the keywords are present in the headline as well because it is the keywords people are looking for. The summary provided on these websites should be impressive enough to bring the reader to your website. People will judge the entire content based on the summary alone. So, it should be well written and should invoke curiosity in the mind of the reader. The summary should be such that it appeals to the audience of that site.

Another great way of linking is through blogs. Communicate with people on the blogs with the same niche. People are bound to notice you. A dialogue will simply get you some links back. But do not link just for the heck of it. Link because your readers might be interested in that blog and their readers might be interested in your website.

Contact the top bloggers, journalists, top forum contributors and Digg users through email and ask for their comments and suggestions. Put your copywriting skills at their best while writing these emails. As these people are enthusiasts for the niche, they will definitely spread the word and publicize whatever they liked about your website and start giving your link in their communication.

Getting your articles published in article directories is also a good way to get links. Although the number of article directories has been increasing more than ever before, joining hands with one of the best like Ezine articles can be a good option. It gives you a good exposure and there are thousands of references to these articles. Other than this, you can also submit guest write-ups on different websites.

No matter how good your content is, it is of no value until it is connected with other websites through links. A website without traffic is like a body without life. They need to be linked to other authoritative and reputed sources in order to get noticed and win the reader’s trust.
