Email marketing has a number of advantages. Some of the advantages include lesser costs as compared to other marketing methods, it can be done in relatively lesser time, it uses fewer resources and is paper free making it more eco friendly. One advantage of email marketing that comes up above the rest, it that it does not need the seller and buyer to come face to face to review the product and to conduct a transaction. A banner on the streets needs people to come to the streets, even a website wants the potential buyer to visit the website through the website link. Email marketing enables the business to go to the person instead of the person going to the business for his needs.
One of the other advantages that email marketing has for the marketers as well, is that an email can be tracked by the sender to see what type of people opened the email and showed interest. This means that in future, those specific numbers of people can be targeted more than the others. This technology is commonly known as an email track-back.
As email marketing has shown a lot of potential and it is still growing, various methods are used through it so that more and more people can be converted to customers. One of the famous techniques used is to offer products before their official release date. It is called pre-sales marketing and advertises products whose official release date is a little later. This is more advantageous for a product that is in popular demand and its technologically advanced version is being eagerly awaited.
For example, computer gaming has gained a lot of popularity and the games of the present need a dedicated processing unit commonly known as a Graphic Processing Unit or GPU for short. As new games are becoming more graphic intense, so is the demand for new and advanced graphic units. As they seem to be in frequent demand, a new product can often be seen on sale through an email even before the official launch date. People who are anxious to buy the products would definitely like the idea of grabbing the opportunity that a pre-sales marketing activity would provide.
Pre-sales email marketing therefore can be used to sell or advertise items before their launch date and attract potential buyers quickly and with relative ease.
