How Is Social Bookmarking An Effective Traffic Generation Tool

There are many platforms and groups that pull in large numbers of people and draw general attention. So using them as a means of advertising can only be useful for your business. Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Tagged, are just a few of them where thousands of people congregate and form communities.
Social bookmarking is a technique that allows users to save links of the web pages they visit and like, so as to share them with their friends and other community members. Users are free to discuss, review, vote and comment on all the blogs, article sources and websites they visit. They then submit a link so that the rest of the users can see and review it or leave a feedback. If the number of feedbacks is positive then that website is most likely to be visited often by other new members or even the regulars who will be checking for updates and news. Users tend to click on banners and online advertisements, mostly out of curiosity and that can be a great advantage for you if you use some banners that direct to your website. Remember that users can upload and add links that they like, and most of them do that so as to show their friends, what kind of websites, products and services they follow.
One of the most helpful tools in bookmarking is that users can categorize the bookmarks, according to their topic, using tags. This means that search
engines will be able to track down your website and check it when a user searches for one of your tagged words and keywords. This also means that if you are
or become a member of one of those communities and social networks, you will be able to tag your own website and make it possible for the search
engine crawlers to find your site.
One of the biggest advantages that these networks offer is that you can create a small website in the social community and provide information about yourself
and your business. When it comes to this way of self advertising, it is good to remember that the same rules of internet marketing apply. Your page needs to be interesting and informative so that people have a good reason to visit it and then spread the word.
The most important thing is to create a good reputation in these social communities. If you do that bookmarking and traffic will inevitably follow.
